It’s not like we haven’t been busy.
The summer schedule has been full, even before the summer technically started. (Happy belated summer solstice, by the way.) Not much happening in the studio, but plenty of performing. Art openings, block parties, weddings, benefit stage shows and bars-lots of cafes and bars.
Last Friday we played a show at Shane’s new venue The Lake House, in Glen Spey. We love Shane and his new place and while the A/C was working, it couldn’t keep up with how hot the show was.
A few weeks back we had the privelage to perform at the Pete Seeger birthday party at the boathouse of the Beacon Sloop Club, which Pete was part of founding. It was an honor to be part of celebrating the legend. Playing and listening to the songs he played and the stories that made his life.
This weekend is another busy one- 3 Shows
Saturday at 3PM we’ll be performing at the Prohibition Distillery in Roscoe, New York. It’ll be our second time there- they loved us the first time around, especially after our show was done, Sara sat a the bar and serenaded the guests with some fiddle tunes on her mandolin.
Then we head down to Honesdale for a 9pm show at the Bluestone Bar and Grill, our first show there and our first show with drummer Jason Freethy.
Then Sunday afternoon, we help close out the Milford Music Festival with Bobby Kyle and the Adminsters, 4pm at the Milford Theater, a beautiful old 300 seat theater in Milford,PA. Last year we helped open the Music Festival at the Pikestock Festival in the theater and we received a warm and fuzzy reception. We love them in Milford and we’ll do our darnedest to not disappoint this year.
The summer is shaping up just fine… And we haven’t even gotten to July. The weekend of the 4th will be CRAZY! A lot more has happened, too much to go into here, and alot more to come…
